Nondiscrimination Policy
The University of Akron is an Equal Opportunity Educational and Employment Institution. There shall be no unlawful discrimination on account of race, color, creed, sex, disability, national origin, age, or religion in education, employment, or admissions, or in services provided by the School of Law. Neither shall there be any discrimination on account of sexual orientation in education, employment, or admissions, or in services provided by the School of Law. These prohibitions include harassment on the basis of race, color, creed, sex, disability, national origin, age, religion, and sexual orientation. They apply to all School of Law faculty, contract professionals, staff, and students. Nothing herein prohibits consideration, to the extent permitted by law, of any of the aforementioned characteristics in admissions or employment for the purpose of achieving diversity.
This policy shall be posted in the School of Law's glass display case and on the School of Law's website, and shall be included in appropriate printed materials of the School of Law.

Antidiscrimination Policy
The University of Akron School of Law/Law Career Planning Office is dedicated to providing equal opportunity for recruitment and employment of all who utilize its services. The Gay/Straight Law Alliance (GSLA) is a student organization devoted to promoting the interests of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender students as well as encouraging discussion about issues of sexual orientation in the law. Through organizational meetings, extracurricular educational offerings, volunteer opportunities, participation in national legal conferences, and regular communication with university administration, the GLSA strives to achieve the following goals:
- Foster the ideals of tolerance, respect, understanding, and equality in the community regarding the legal rights and privileges of all people, notably those individuals who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, or gay-friendly.
- Develop law student interest and education regarding gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender legal issues through education programs.
- Provide a forum in which students, faculty, staff, administrators, and alumni may come together to express themselves and discuss legal issues relevant to gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals.
- Advocate the development and implementation of university policies that protect against discrimination based on sexual orientation.
- Encourage and support agencies that strive to meet the needs of the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender communities.
- Function as a supportive and educational resource for the entire law school community, as well as the community at large.
