Nondiscrimination Policy

OutLaw is Boston University School of Law's student group for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and allied students. OutLaw provides leadership and educational opportunities and strives to connect Boston University School of Law to the GLBTQ legal community. The organization organizes events with other GLBTQ law student groups in Boston and serves as a safe haven for all students encouraging discussion of LGBTQ issues. Course Titles and/or Descriptions

JD957: Law and Sexual Minorities

This seminar will consider the legal treatment of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender citizens. In particular, the seminar will cover evolving family structures, privacy rights, the military, employment discrimination, and the tension between protecting the rights of victims of discrimination and those who discriminate.

Domestic Partnership Benefits

Additional Information

Boston University School of Law seeks to enroll a diverse student body and celebrates each student's individuality. During the application process, applicants are given the option to identify as LGBTQ so that current students, faculty, and staff may contact them to provide information and answer questions. At the start of 1L year, LGBTQ students are welcomed to the BU Law community at the "Be Yourself Orientation" specifically for LGBTQ and students of color. Boston University School of Law has an active LGBTQ student organization, OutLaw, which has an extensive alumni list due to the long history of LGBTQ students at BU Law.
