Sexual Orientation and the Law
This course will examine a variety of areas in which the law distinguishes on the basis of sexual orientation including criminal law, family law, employment law, and constitutional law. The jurisprudence in a variety of areas of law will be examined to see how that jurisprudence has (or has not) been modified in light of sexual orientation.
Domestic Partnership Benefits
Capital University is offering domestic partners of employees health, dental, long term care, and supplemental life insurance. For purposes of Capital University benefits policy, a domestic partnership is a relationship between an unmarried employee and one other unmarried person over 18 years of age of the same or opposite sex as the employee who have a single, dedicated relationship, intend to remain in the relationship indefinitely, and meet all the requirements for eligibility stated in the Capital University Affidavit of Domestic Partnership. An employee wishing to designate a domestic partner must complete an Affidavit of Domestic Partnership, available in the Human Resources Office. Capital University benefits apply to domestic partners under the specific terms of the benefit policies.
