Nondiscrimination Policy

Fordham University reaffirms its policy of nondiscrimination. The University is an academic institution that, in compliance with federal, state, and local laws, does not illegally discriminate on the basis of race, color, creed, age, gender, national origin, marital or parental status, sexual orientation, alienage or citizenship status, veteran status, or disability.

Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 prohibits discrimination on the basis of handicap. No otherwise qualified person shall be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or otherwise be subjected to discrimination in any programs or activities of the University solely on the basis of physical or mental disability. Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 provides that no person shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or otherwise be subject to discrimination in any education program or activity. A Section 504 and a Title IX compliance officer is available to address any complaints alleging discrimination on the basis of handicap or sex.
