Additional Information
The Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law's application for admission does not require students to address their sexual orientation or sexual identity in the application. Students will often disclose their sexual orientation within their personal statement or within the optional diversity statement. We look to build the most diverse class possible, and this includes students who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender.
The LAMBDA Law Students' Association hosts a number of events each academic year. Some of the recent events have included a speaker on the topic "Utilizing Your Personal Strengths in Career Choices, Job Searches, Handling Rejection, and Discrimination," a CLE on "Emerging LGBT Legal Issues: What You Should Know to Protect Your Client," and a film produced by the ACLU concerning issues facing the LGBT community. LAMBDA often works with other student organizations to tie their message into related events.
Ohio Northern University also hosts a group within the undergraduate college called "Open Doors," which is open to all ONU students and provides weekly meetings and additional events throughout the year.
The climate for LGBT students at ONU Law is a very welcoming and positive one where the college welcomes input from the LGBT students, faculty, and staff and strives to provide the best possible atmosphere for every single person.
