Law and Sexuality Seminar

This seminar will explore the different ways in which the law regulates and accounts for sexuality in general and sexual orientation in particular. Topics to be covered will include rights to privacy and their impact on the ability of the state to regulate sexual conduct; rights to equal protection by lesbians and gay men; the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy; rights to free speech and associations of lesbians and gay men (and of those who do not want to associate with them); same-sex marriage and adoption by lesbians and gay men; employment discrimination; and legal issues involving transgender individuals.
