Additional Information

Whittier Law School has a long history of supporting LGBT issues. For admission purposes, it is recommended that students speak about their sexual orientation or sexual identity in the application, either in the personal statement or through an addendum.

We have a very active LGBT student organization and one of our recent students, Raphel Briones, was recently elected to the National LGBT Bar Association's Law Student Congress.

LGBT issues are thoroughly covered in our Barcelona Summer Abroad Program, including the following classes: Comparative Approach to LGBT Relationships; Comparative Legal Systems Seminar: Law and Sexuality; Community Property; Spanish Law and the LGBT Community; Sexuality, Gender and Displacement; and LGBT Parenting Legal Issues. In addition to those courses, LGBT topics are regularly raised in most of our classes held on campus.
