Introduction
Florida Coastal School of Law places student outcomes at the center of our focus. To that end, we believe the indispensable hallmarks of a successful legal education include rigorous academic coursework, innovative use of technology, and the infusion of skills training into traditional courses.
We also understand the decision to pursue an LLM is an important one. If you have any questions about our school and our programs, please contact us and we will be happy to assist you. Both of our LLM programs are offered entirely online and can be completed on your schedule.
LLM Programs/Areas of Specialization
Florida Coastal of Law offers two LLM programs: one in the area of transportation and logistics law and one in American law for foreign lawyers. Both are offered online.
LLM in Transportation and Logistics
Florida Coastal School of Law is proud to introduce the country’s first LLM in Transportation and Logistics Law, and the first Certificate in Transportation and Logistics Regulation. All courses are offered entirely online and can be completed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The business of transportation and logistics is one of the fastest growing industries worldwide. Likewise, as the US Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts jobs for logisticians are expected to increase by 26 percent between 2010 and 2020, there is an increased demand for professionals who are educated in the laws and regulations governing this dynamic industry.
Our programs will train personnel to handle legal problems in Transportation and Logistics, including accidents and liability, personal injury and property damage, pollution, government regulation, personnel matters, or labor relations.
Our goal is to create “Solution Brokers,” professionals trained in the law who are able to work with management, labor, government, and carriers in solving problems before they become litigation.
Non-lawyers with Certificates in Transportation and Logistics Regulation should be able to handle many legal problems “in-house” before they escalate. When legal representation is necessary, lawyers with LLMs and non-lawyers with certificates can work together efficiently and effectively to solve problems.
Students working toward an LLM degree must complete 24 credits and maintain a 2.3 cumulative GPA. Students with a JD who are working toward a Certificate in Transportation and Logistics Law must complete 12 credits and maintain a 2.3 cumulative GPA. Students pursuing a certificate have the option to work toward an LLM degree by continuing to take courses and completing 24 credit hours.
During each fall, spring, and summer semester, there will be two seven-week terms followed by a one-week exam period. It is expected that students will complete the program in no more than four years.
Applications are processed through LSAC.

The Masters of US Law Degree
Florida Coastal's Master of Laws (LLM) degree in US Law offers all courses in an online, interactive classroom setting. Students can interact with distinguished US law professors while learning the US legal system. Live classes are scheduled for the convenience of working students, including weekend classes. Outside of class, you can participate in online discussion forums and conduct research in LexisNexis and Westlaw, the two premier online legal research databases. The curriculum consists of subjects that are frequently tested on US bar exams, including Constitutional Law, Evidence, and Contracts and Sales. Examinations are administered online on weekends. The degree, consisting of 26 credit hours, can help a foreign law graduate to qualify academically to sit for the bar exam in select US jurisdictions.
Tuition for the 26-credit-hour program is $14,950, a fraction of the cost of residential LLM programs. Students can pay tuition in four affordable installments. Applications are processed through the Apply Online tab of the LLM website.
