Nondiscrimination Policy

The University of Toledo has declared a policy of providing equal opportunity in all policies and procedures affecting employment and education. The director is responsible for the implementation of the university’s Affirmative Action program and will report directly to the president.   • LAWI 9040 Civil and Political Rights: (2–3 hours) Civil and Political Rights focuses on a broad array of legal issues and rights in this area of law. Beginning with a history of the area, the course includes topics such as voting rights, religion, education, discrimination, police misconduct, and prisoners’ rights. Current issues are discussed using news articles and videos.
  • LAWI 9080 Gender and the Law: (2–3 hours) This course covers issues of gender in the law, including family, employment, domestic violence, and antidiscrimination law. These issues are examined on both a theoretical and practical level, with a primary focus on jurisprudential approaches to issues of women in the law.
