Summary of Position

The Assistant Dean of Admissions is responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership to market, recruit, and select students for the University of Idaho College of Law.  As a member of the Dean’s senior leadership team, the Assistant Dean will provide administrative management and coordination for all admissions functions from recruitment to matriculation, including oversight of the scholarship program.   The Assistant Dean is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the admissions office, including the supervision of admissions staff, working closely with the Faculty Admissions Committee to set and achieve enrollment goals, planning recruitment events, development and implementation of a unified strategy to maximize the breadth and quality of the applicant pool, resulting in the matriculation of the most talented and diverse applicant pool possible.  

 

The University of Idaho, founded in 1889, is the state’s land grant college with the main campus located in Moscow, Idaho.   The law school has two campuses, one in Moscow and the other in Boise, the state capital.   Moscow is the quintessential college town, located in northern Idaho, in surrounded by nature’s beauty with seemingly unlimited outdoor activities.   Moscow has been named one of the top 30 universities in the nation to “hit the books and the backcountry.”   Boise is the economic and governmental center of Idaho.   Boise has been named one of the Top 100 Best Places to Live.  The University of Idaho College of Law, with an first year entering class of approximately 140 students, equally split between the two campuses, is ranked as one of the “Best Value Law Schools” by Pre-Law Magazine.

The University of Idaho College of Law seeks an energetic, experienced, admissions professional to be part of a dynamic leadership team.   The College of Law, located in Moscow, Idaho is part of the University system founded in 1889 and the only law school in the state with a total enrollment of approximately 300 students.   The ideal candidate for the Assistant Dean of Admissions must possess strong leadership skills, superior judgement, prior admissions experience and believe in a student-centered approach to admissions.   The Assistant Dean of Admissions will serve as the chief admissions officer for the College of Law and will report directly to the Dean of the College of Law.   The Assistant Dean of Admissions is responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership to market, recruit, and select students for the College of Law.
