Summary of Position
The Assistant (or Associate, based on experience) Director of Admission works with the Admission team to recruit and enroll a diverse class of law students each year. In collaboration with the Assistant Dean of Admission and the Assistant Director of Admission & Student Life, this position will evaluate JD program applications and make recommendations as part of the Admission Committee. The Assistant Director will also counsel prospective students, attend virtual and in-person recruiting events, manage enrollment data, and hire/train/supervise our team of student Admission Fellows.
Bachelor’s degree and three or more years of experience working in an admission office in a higher educational environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. JD degree preferred.
Must have a demonstrated interest in legal education and the mission of the Seattle University School of Law.
Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to be an active listener and resource for prospective students. The ability to work with diverse (and at times stressed) prospective students.
Organize and manage multiple priorities and projects concurrently.
Work with a positive attitude and good humor.
Demonstrate innovation and initiative in admission programming.
Knowledge and operational proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of products with the ability and willingness to learn new software programs. Experience with ACES2 preferred.
This position requires regional and national travel.
