Summary of Position
The Director of Admissions (“Director”) works collaboratively with the rest of the law school’s Office of Admissions to provide leadership in all facets of recruitment and admissions efforts for the law school’s J.D. programs. Additionally, the Director provides a wide range of outreach and recruitment services to prelaw advisors and other undergraduate personnel to strengthen the law school’s reputation for excellence and a mission-based education. Working with the Associate Dean for Enrollment Services (“Associate Dean”) and the Assistant Dean for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, the Director plans and coordinates programs designed to successfully recruit and retain students from historically underrepresented, underserved, and marginalized populations.

Lincoln Memorial University – John J. Duncan, Jr. School of Law (LMU Law) is seeking applicants for the newly created position of Director of Admissions (Director.) Reporting to the Associate Dean for Enrollment Services, the Director will work with our team to elevate prospective student recruitment and engagement through a variety of means for our mission-driven institution. We seek candidates who can contribute meaningfully to the diversity and intercultural goals of the University and LMU Law. We also seek applicants who want to take the next step in their careers in a leadership position.

LMU Law is located in Knoxville, Tennessee, and our main campus is located in Harrogate, Tennessee. With over 5,000 students, LMU currently has 12 extended sites across four states. Founded in 1897 by General O.O. Howard, who also founded Howard University, Lincoln Memorial University has experienced tremendous growth in the last 20 years. LMU Law opened in 2009, and we are fully approved by the American Bar Association. We have two programs of legal education – a full-time program, and a new, innovative part-time/hybrid program.
