LSAT Inbox — October 2026 LSAT

Welcome to the LSAT Inbox! This is a blog series that answers frequently asked questions about the LSAT®. We encourage you to check back often for answers to more questions you may have as you prepare for the test.

Is there a late fee I can pay to register after the deadline?

No, you must register for your LSAT by the deadline. If you miss the deadline, you must register for another open administration. All deadlines are posted on our website under Upcoming LSAT Dates.

I would like to change my October 2026 LSAT registration to a future administration. Can I do this?

LSAT registrations may be moved to a future open administration following the deadlines and fees associated with each test. The deadline for a test date change at no charge and our full refund deadline was Thursday, August 27. You may still move your October 2026 LSAT registration up until Tuesday, October 6. Please note that fees will apply.

I thought I scheduled my October 2026 LSAT during the registration process. Is that true?

No. When you registered for the LSAT, you were asked your preference for scheduling only. Please note that you are not scheduled for your test with these preferences. You will still need to schedule your testing session once scheduling opens on Tuesday, September 22. During scheduling is when you will be able to make your final choice from the test dates and times available.

Can LSAC open additional testing dates and times?

No, the specific test dates and times have already been approved for this test administration, and they cannot be changed.

I would like to schedule my test date; however, my accommodation request is still under review. When will I be able to schedule?

You can log in to your account and navigate to LSAT/The LSAT/ LSAT Status: View All LSAT Information to review your accommodation approval letter once posted. You will be able to schedule your test when scheduling opens, depending on if your accommodations require a specific modality. You will be able to schedule based on your requested accommodations while your request is under review.

Where can I find the details with dates and times for October 2026 LSAT scheduling?

Test takers will use Prometric’s ProScheduler tool to select a test center from Prometric’s network of test centers worldwide or schedule their test remotely if approved for a remote testing exception. Please ensure that you review the scheduling emails carefully to determine when your scheduling window opens. Once your test is scheduled, you will receive a confirmation email from Prometric. Your scheduling details will be available in JD Services under LSAT/The LSAT/LSAT Status: View All LSAT Information.
