Summary of Position
Experienced professionals seeking career growth in the law school admissions field are encouraged to join a seasoned, accomplished admissions team at the flagship public university and law school in Columbia, South Carolina. As a direct report to the dean of the law school, the assistant dean is responsible for establishing, shaping, implementing, and advancing the law school’s enrollment strategy. The assistant dean is the primary application file reader and is responsible for recommendations of applicant status. With talented and experienced directors in admissions operations, engagement, and recruitment, the assistant dean will provide strategic leadership to a team that will attract well-qualified applicants, apply strategic scholarship and enrollment management principles, and recruit admitted candidates to Columbia. As the public face of the law school’s admissions process, the assistant dean will build on existing strong relationships with feeder schools and envision and implement strategies that will continue to improve the law school’s strategic position among law schools. The assistant dean will work with other talented professionals at the law school to enhance the experience and success of students at USC Rice School of Law.
Additional Information
The successful candidate will be able to travel to recruitment events and develop and deliver presentations to stakeholders in formal and informal settings. The successful candidate will be available to begin work in Columbia on September 1, 2026.
