Official Guide to LLM, Master’s, and Certificate Programs
Introduction
For more than 100 years, The Catholic University of America’s Columbus School of Law has trained many of the nation’s most distinguished lawyers and judges. In law firms, federal and local government, the judiciary, and the public sector, our graduates are recognized for their knowledge, competence, and ethics.
The Columbus School of Law offers its Master of Laws (LLM) degree program to graduates of US and foreign law schools. LLM candidates, mentored by expert faculty, plan a course of study from one of the following concentrations: Communications Law, Comparative and International Law, or Securities Law. Through the law school’s extensive curricular offerings, LLM candidates enhance their knowledge for practice by acquiring significant expertise in the area of specialization they have selected.

Housing
There is very limited on-campus housing for graduate students at Catholic University. The law school, however, has a variety of resources available to incoming students in order to support students and to help ease their transition to the Washington, DC, area. The resources include information about searching online for housing in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area and a list of things to do before you move. The school has resources to address many other questions and concerns that students often have when moving to the area. There is a list of apartments to help students start their housing search and maps of the Metro stations near where residences are located.

The Catholic University of America School of Law’s Office of Career and Professional Development is dedicated to assisting students secure employment not solely after graduation, but for the rest of their lives.
