LSAT Inbox — Preparing for Test Day

Welcome to the LSAT Inbox! This is a blog series that answers frequently asked questions about the LSAT®. We encourage you to check back often for answers to more questions you may have as you prepare for the test.

What should I expect while testing at a Prometric testing center? Can you walk me through the process?

Please review the information below to get familiar with the process at test centers:

  • Arrive at the test center up to 30 minutes before your scheduled time.
  • You’ll need a valid photo ID. For more information about acceptable IDs, visit Identification Accepted for LSAT Admission.
  • Make sure to have memorized your LawHub username/password. (These are the same credentials you used to register for the LSAT.) If you don’t know your credentials, your test start time will be delayed.
  • Lockers will be provided. All cell phones, food, and beverages will be stored in lockers while you take the test.
  • Follow check-in procedures.
  • Read and agree to the Certifying Statement.
  • Click Begin, and the time will start.
  • Follow the intermission instructions.
  • Check back in.
  • Complete your test and follow check-out procedures.

What is considered an acceptable ID?

You must present a physical, valid government-issued photo ID. The ID must contain a recent and recognizable photo of you, your first and last name, and the date of birth. Please visit Identification Accepted for LSAT Admission for more information.

I was approved for the remote testing exception. Is there anything I should be aware of while testing remotely?

Yes. You will need a desktop computer or a laptop that meets the technical requirements. Please view the ProProctor application to test your equipment in advance. If the device doesn’t meet the criteria, please secure a different device for the test to prevent any technical issues. LSAC will also contact you via email to share additional helpful remote checklist items.

I have a testing accommodation. Will this be communicated to my proctor?

Yes. Your accommodations are shared with the proctor, so they can monitor your session as needed. To protect your privacy, only your assigned proctor will have access to your accommodations.

What should I do if I experience a technical issue during my test?

Please inform your proctor immediately. Most technical issues are resolved, and candidates are able to continue. If your issue cannot be resolved or is outside of your or your proctor’s control, please contact LSAC to review your options.

How do I submit a test day complaint or feedback?

If you had issues that prevented you from completing the test and you would like to be reviewed for eligible options, please go to “My Home” page of your account, scroll down to the “LSAT Registrations” tab and click “View LSAT Registrations & Statuses.” On the following page, locate the applicable LSAT administration date and click the link to “Submit Test Day Complaint or Feedback.” You must submit your test day complaint within two days of your test day, otherwise it will not be reviewed, and no options will be provided to you.
