August 2020 LSAT-Flex Deadlines: United States (Including Puerto Rico & U.S. Virgin Islands) and Canada

Region: United States (Including Puerto Rico & U.S. Virgin Islands) and Canada
This is important: Given the ongoing COVID-19 emergency, LSAC will offer the online, remotely proctored LSAT-Flex in August, and cancel the in-person LSAT that was scheduled for August 29 in the U.S. and Canada. All August LSAT registrants will be automatically registered to take the LSAT-Flex during the week of August 29 unless they choose to opt out and receive a coupon to use for any future LSAT until April 2021. In addition, individuals who are not already registered for the August LSAT may register for the August LSAT-Flex until the deadline of Wednesday, July 15. For questions, please contact our Candidate Services team at LSACinfo@LSAC.org or 215.968.1001; our staff are available and eager to help.

LSAT-Flex

The August LSAT-Flex will be available in lieu of the in-person August 2020 LSAT, and will be administered during the week of August 29. Most test takers will test on either Saturday, August 29; Sunday, August 30; or Monday, August 31, with a small number of tests occurring later in the week based on specific remote proctoring requirements.

LSAC is committed to working with test takers to help them have the equipment and other resources they need. Please note that the deadline to request assistance with computer hardware, internet access, or a quiet place to test is Sunday, August 9, 2020. There is no charge for this assistance.

The deadline to change to a later test is Friday, August 21. The deadline to withdraw from the test is Friday, August 28.

We are targeting Friday, September 18, as the score release date for the August LSAT-Flex. If you are a first-time test taker who has registered for Score Preview, you will have up to six calendar days after you receive your score to decide whether you want to cancel your score or keep it and have it released to the schools to which you have applied. If you have not registered for Score Preview, your score will be released to the schools to which you have applied at the same time it is released to you.

If you are a first-time test taker, you must complete LSAT Writing before your score can be released to you or to the schools to which you have applied.

If you have granted permission to your prelaw advisor to see your score, it will be released to that prelaw advisor on the day following the day it is released to you.

Saturday, August 29, 2020 is the first day of the August LSAT-Flex administration. Testing will also take place on Sunday, August 30, Monday, August 31, as well as on a few days later in the week based on specific remote proctoring requirements.

Score Release Dates

Scores are released at 9:00 a.m. Eastern Time via test takers’ LSAC accounts. Starting with the August 2020 test, scores will only be released if the test taker has a completed writing sample on file. Your score will be released to the schools to which you have applied at the same time it is released to you, unless you are a first-time test taker who has chosen the Score Preview feature. If you have granted permission to your prelaw advisor to see your score, it will be released to that prelaw advisor on the day following the day it is released to you. If you are a first-time test taker who has chosen the Score Preview feature, the score will be released to others only after you have chosen to have it released or at the end of the Score Preview period if you have not canceled the score.
