Campbell Law BLSA College Connections Program

March 23, 2019, 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

Campbell University Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law
225 Hillsborough Street, Suite 102
Raleigh, NC 27603-1723

Interests in law may lie in many students of every age and background, but cultivating and inspiring the pursuit of law is more challenging. There are many barriers, especially to diverse students. Our program attempts to reignite that interest and turn it into a passion.

Our weekend enrichment program for high school seniors and college undergraduate students will serve as a preparation to law school bootcamp. Students will learn how to prepare for the LSAT exam, how to write a personal statement, the necessity of financial aid for law school and students will also be given the opportunity to become lawyers themselves by competing in a mock trial or moot court argument. We intend to use guidance counselors and undergraduate pre-law student associations to inform these students of the program. We also intend to reach out to local community groups such as 4-H, the YMCA, local libraries, teen outreach programs, Raleigh Youth Council, and Saint Monica Teen Center.

Our goal is to inspire passion in future legal minds to help improve the diversity of this profession.
