Mentors in Law for First-Generation Students II

November 23, 2019, 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
ET
University of San Diego School of Law
5998 Alcala Park
San Diego, CA 92110

University of San Diego School of Law hosts prospective jurists from across Southern California for a law school application readiness and student immersion program. The event is a continuation of this summer's Mentors in Law I, where attendees engaged in thoughtful and honest discussions on the challenges and rewards of life as a first-generation college student pursuing a career in law. In the upcoming November program, guests will hear from a first-gen. keynote speaker, choose between sessions led by multiple regional law schools (e.g. financial aid overview or LSAT workshop, personal statement presentation or first-generation college student/law student and attorney panel), and experience the Socratic Method first-hand in a mock law class. The day concludes with a "Mentorship Meet and Greet" between guests and local law students, attorneys, and judges. Presented by University of San Diego School of Law School, Chapman Fowler School of Law, Southwestern Law School, and Thomas Jefferson School of Law and in conjunction with the Law School Admission Council's Discover Law program.
