Admission Decisions: Beyond the Numbers

Admissions Process

There are two ways in which students may apply to the JD program at Miami Law: via regular admission and via the Binding Early Decision Program.

Regular admission has an application priority deadline of January 15 and a final application submission deadline of July 31. Applicants wishing to position themselves optimally for admission and scholarship consideration should plan to submit their completed applications on or before the January 15 priority deadline.

The Binding Early Decision Program has an application submission deadline in the first week of November.

Financial Aid and Scholarships

Information regarding financial aid can be found on Miami Law's Financing Your Legal Education webpage. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) becomes available October 1, and Miami Law's preferred FAFSA deadline is February 1.

All merit-based scholarships for incoming students are awarded by the Office of Admissions. If admitted, your application will be automatically considered by the Scholarship Committee. Scholarships are highly competitive and granted to admitted students on a rolling basis. The majority of scholarships are awarded between January and March of each admission cycle or until the scholarship funds are exhausted. If you are awarded a scholarship, you will receive an email notification from the Scholarship Committee. Competitive applicants who wish to be optimally positioned for scholarship consideration should complete their applications by the priority deadline of January 15.
