Statement by Kellye Testy, President & CEO of Law School Admission Council, on Harvard University Admissions Case Ruling

October 1, 2019

“As one of more than 35 organizations dedicated to advancing diversity in higher education who filed an amicus brief in this case, the Law School Admission Council applauds today’s decision. This ruling upholds the careful and appropriate balance that the Courts have forged over four decades, allowing colleges and universities to consider race and ethnicity as one part of a comprehensive admission policy. LSAC’s mission is to help expand access to justice for all, by working with our member law schools and other organizations to create a legal system that reflects the full diversity of our society. This decision will help ensure that America’s higher education system provides greater access, opportunity, and innovation for all, as our nation confronts the challenges and opportunities of a rapidly changing world.”
