Hi there. In this video, we'll walk you through everything you need to know to set up your phone as a second camera for your upcoming exam.
First, I'll share a few quick tips to help you get ready before exam day, and then I'll take you step by step through the actual setup process in the application so you'll know exactly what to expect.
Now let's get started with some tips.
Fully charge your phone and have a reliable phone charger on hand. Familiarize yourself with how to put your phone on do not disturb mode.
Choose a testing spot near an outlet to keep your phone charged during the exam.
A tripod or phone stand makes setup easy for your second camera. You can borrow one or grab an affordable option before exam day.
Now, let's walk through the setup steps you'll take on exam day.
First, launch ProProctor from your computer, then scan the QR code with your smartphone to open the second camera app.
Next, silence distractions.
Place your phone about two arms lengths away to capture your desk surface and surroundings.
Plug your smartphone into an outlet.
Rotate your phone to landscape orientation.
Place your phone on a tripod, phone stand, or stable surface.
Position your phone to the side of your testing area to capture a wide view of your workspace, making sure your computer screen is not visible in the camera view.
And please avoid touching your smartphone during your exam unless directed to do so. Then click finish setup.
Lastly, you will return to your computer to verify your second camera setup and video connection.
Once everything's connected and verified, you'll move on to the environment and security checks with a readiness agent.
You're all set. Take a deep breath and go into your exam with confidence.
Starting with the August 2026 LSAT, if you are granted a Remote Testing Exception for the live, remote-proctored modality of the test, you will be required to use your smartphone as a second camera during your testing session. This new policy will only apply to the multiple-choice section of the LSAT. LSAT Argumentative Writing will continue to be administered online with a single camera.
This Second Camera Policy is being adopted as part of several security enhancements we’re introducing for the 2026-2027 testing cycle to not only protect the security of the LSAT content, but also ensure the LSAT continues to be a valid, reliable and fair assessment of your skills.
Setting up your second camera will be a seamless process once you download ProProctor Live during the onboarding process prior to taking your LSAT. When you input your confirmation number, the ProProctor app will guide you through the setup process. On test day, you can also consult with your readiness agent to guide you through the process.
