October LSAT

As the November 1 score release date for the September 2023 LSAT approaches, we would like to remind test takers that they must have an approved LSAT Writing sample on file — either from the October 2023 LSAT or from a previous test — to receive their score. Scores will not be released to test takers, or to the schools to which they’re applying, if they don’t have an approved writing sample on file.

We strongly encourage test takers to complete their LSAT Writing sample as soon as possible, as it can take up to 14 days, or longer in some cases, for review and approval.

November LSAT

The scheduling process for the November 2023 LSAT will begin on Tuesday, October 24. LSAT administrations in the fall are traditionally the largest of the testing cycle and this year’s November administration is no different as we currently have more than 32,000 individuals registered to take the test.

Once again, due to the large volume of test takers for November, we’re deploying a staggered scheduling window process based on the day testers want to test and the modality they want to choose. When we rolled out this system in October, although there was some initial confusion, it did go a long way toward minimizing wait times in the scheduling queue while enabling test takers to schedule their test for the day and time they preferred.

The primary testing days for the November 2023 LSAT are:

  • Wednesday, November 8
  • Thursday, November 9
  • Friday, November 10
  • Saturday, November 11

October 24 and 25 are designated as “Center-Only” scheduling days. On these days, testers who wish to test in a test center will find their desired day’s opening. Remote scheduling will not be available on these two dates.

October 26 and 27 are designated as “Remote-Only” scheduling days. On these days, testers who wish to test remotely will find their desired day’s opening. In-person testing will be closed during these two days of “Remote-Only” scheduling.

Test takers will be able to reschedule once an initial appointment has been made, but not before October 28. On that date, test takers who were not able to schedule, or want to change their appointment, will be able to so for both modalities and all test dates.

Please note, that scheduling for in-person testing will close on Friday, November 3 at 11:59 p.m. ET. Scheduling for remote testing will close on Sunday, November 5 at 11:59 p.m. ET.

To experience shorter wait times in the queue, urge you to plan your test date and time before accessing Prometric ProScheduler and note the scheduling times from the table below:

All November 2023 LSAT test takers, regardless of whether testing remotely or in person, will use Prometric’s ProScheduler tool to schedule their test when scheduling opens on September 26. You will receive an email on that date with detailed instructions to guide you through the scheduling process.

If you encounter any difficulty during the scheduling process, contact Prometric to assist with availability and scheduling at 1-800-350-5517.

Test Taker Pro-Tip of the Week: Plan your scheduling for November

If you want to avoid long wait times in the scheduling queue when scheduling opens for the November 2023 LSAT, have a plan ready.

Before logging onto the ProScheduler tool, make sure you know the date, time, and modality in which you want to take your test and then use the scheduling table above to plan your scheduling experience.

Although there is a large volume of test takers, there’s also a large volume of available time slots to test both remotely and in test centers. However, there’s a likelihood that you will experience some wait times to access the scheduling tool. Be patient!

On October 24, you will receive an email with detailed instructions on how to schedule your test. Read carefully and follow the instructions to minimize your time in the queue.
