Registration Is Open for the 2026-2027 LSAT Testing Cycle, Plus an Update on the Return to In-Person Testing
As we do around this time every year, we have today opened registration for all LSAT tests in the 2026-2027 testing cycle.
We are once again offering the LSAT in August, September, October, November, January, February, April, and June, as well as the LSAT-Puerto Rico in February.
As we announced in February, we will be requiring in-person testing for the LSAT, starting with the August 2026 test, with only limited exceptions for test takers who live far away from a testing center as well as certain medical- or disability-related accommodations.
This move will improve the testing experience and help to ensure the security and integrity of the test. We currently use a wide range of security measures before, during, and after testing to deter and detect potential misconduct. Moving back to in-person testing for the vast majority of test takers will provide additional layers of protection against anyone who tries to undermine the integrity of the test.
Expanded in-person capacity
To help make this successful for test takers, we are expanding the number of test centers and testing appointments available for each test administration.
Our goal is to have significantly more in-person test slots available for each test administration than the overall number of test takers we had for the corresponding month in last year’s testing cycle, so test takers can find a time slot that meets their needs.
Limited exceptions to in-person testing
Most test takers will be required to test in person at a Prometric testing center. A small number of test takers with approved medically justified accommodations that cannot be provided at a test center will be allowed to test remotely.
In addition, we recognize that there will be a small number of test takers that live far from a test center with available capacity. Any test taker who provides documentation that they live more than 180 miles or three hours travel time from a test center can request an exception to test remotely.
All remote test takers will be subject to heightened security measures and real-time human proctoring.
Once registered for an LSAT administration, test takers will be able to apply for a remote testing exception and submit all their documentation through JD Services. For more information, visit LSAT Remote Testing and Distance Exceptions.
Streamlining how you schedule your test session
Moving to in-person testing gives us the opportunity to streamline the way test takers schedule their test date and time. For the 2026-2027 testing cycle, the vast majority of test takers will be scheduling a testing session at a Prometric test center. These test takers will be assigned a scheduling window based on the order in which they register for each administration. This assignment will be done on a “first to register, first to schedule” basis for each LSAT administration.
Once registered for a specific LSAT administration, test takers will be able to find their assigned scheduling window in the LSAT status tab in JD Services.
About four weeks before each test administration, test takers will receive an email reminder that scheduling will open in a few days. On the day scheduling opens, test takers will receive another email as well as an SMS message when their specific scheduling window opens. The email will provide instructions on how to schedule their testing in the Prometric ProScheduler tool.
Once the scheduling window opens, it will remain open until scheduling closes approximately one week before the start of the LSAT administration. Test takers will be able to select their preferred day and time, based upon availability at their preferred test center. Testing sessions will be available on a “first come, first served” basis, so be sure to plan accordingly.
Rescheduling will be available starting 24 hours after the scheduling window opens.

Prospective test takers can register in JD Services.
Test dates and pricing information are available on the Upcoming LSAT Dates and LSAT & CAS Fees webpages. While inflation is a fact of life in today’s economy, we work hard to keep our prices as low as possible, and the increase across our services is lower than the rate of inflation.
Our teams are working hard to ensure a smooth transition to the 2026-2027 testing cycle. We will continue to provide periodic updates as we get closer to the August test. If you have any questions or feedback, please feel free to contact us at LSACinfo@LSAC.org.
