The Law School Admission Council announced that its July 15 administration of the first-ever digital version of the Law School Admission Test (LSAT) was generally very successful, opening an exciting new chapter in LSAC’s history with help from the organization’s technology partners at Microsoft and its dedicated test center staff.
Every other year, LSAC surveys its member law schools to update information of importance to LGBTQ applicants. This information helps applicants gauge the LGBTQ climates of prospective law schools, providing another way to determine if a law school is the right fit for them. Nearly 100 law schools in the United States and Canada responded to the 2018 LGBTQ Law School Survey, which asked schools to answer the following questions:
LSAC’s new “Keeping Up to Data” podcast, first released in November 2018, addresses current data of interest to law school admission professionals. Podcasts will be released about once a month, and topics will include application and applicant volumes, test-taker trends, and more.
The Law School Admission Council, the leader in assessments, data, and technology for legal education, has named Melissa Harris Thirsk as its chief marketing officer. Harris Thirsk will be responsible for leading LSAC’s customer engagement, brand strategy, and sales. She has 20 years of experience bringing products, services, and ideas to market for innovative brands including Microsoft, Arizona State University, and WE Communications.
The Law School Survey of Student Engagement Announces New Board Members
The Law School Survey of Student Engagement (LSSSE) is proud to announce that Ajay K. Mehrotra, executive director of the American Bar Foundation (ABF) and professor of law at Northwestern University’s Pritzker School of Law; Camille A. Nelson, dean of American University Washington College of Law; and Kellye Y. Testy, president and chief executive officer of the Law School Admission Council (LSAC), have joined the LSSSE National Advisory Board.
