Summary of Position

The Charleston School of Law seeks resumés for a full-time Assistant Director of Admission. This position will report to the Associate Dean of Admission and Financial Aid and will also serve as the Co-Director of the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). This will include collaboration with the other Co-Director of the Office of DEI to support enrolled students from underrepresented groups.

The Assistant Director of Admission will develop relationships with pre-law and other advisors, faculty, and student groups at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) as well as Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSIs) and other Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs), especially in South Carolina and the Southeast. This position will develop and coordinate/host a summer pipeline program and other events for students from underrepresented groups that are interested in attending law school in addition to assisting the Office of Admission with recruiting events on and off campus.

This position will be responsible for building, executing, assessing, and refining efforts to increase the enrollment of law students from groups underrepresented in the legal profession. As needed, the Assistant Director of Admission will also assist generally with admissions recruitment, events, such as orientation, and other Office of Admission duties to include review of files.

The right candidate will possess the ability to assist the Office of Admission with conducting counseling sessions with prospective students, applicants, and current students; tours for prospective students and applicants; and other Office of Admission duties as needed.
