Examples of Duties

The Coordinator of Graduate Recruitment and Retention works closely with the directors of graduate studies and program recruiters across the SIU campus. 
The coordinator is responsible for coordinating and implementing strategic graduate recruitment and retention efforts in collaboration with Southern Illinois University administration and the campus graduate enrollment team.  
The person in this position conducts research and analyzes trends to make recruitment recommendations, track return on investment, and develop best practices for recruitment and retention of domestic and international graduate students. 
Development of recruitment strategies that enhance conversion and yield rates and improve the overall quality, diversity, and credentials of the entering class is a primary focus for the position.  
This position coordinates, arranges, and/or participates in on- and off-campus domestic, international, and recruitment initiatives on behalf of the Graduate School, School of Law, and Center for International Education.  
Marketing and recruitment materials, media for domestic and international graduate student recruitment, social media/website administration posting and updating is done by this person in collaboration with the directors of graduate studies and program recruiters. 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's degree with one (1) year of relevant experience in recruitment, or Bachelor's degree with at least three (3) years of experience in recruitment may be substituted.  
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, written, and organizational skills as well as cross-cultural sensitivity and the ability to work with students and scholars from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Student service experience.
