LSAT Inbox

Welcome to the LSAT Inbox! This is a weekly blog series that answers frequently asked questions about the LSAT®. We encourage you to check back often for answers to more questions you may have as you prepare for the test.

When will scheduling open for the October LSAT?

Scheduling will open on Tuesday, September 26 for those registered for the October LSAT. You should have received an email earlier this week with more details. For more information, you can check the scheduling windows on our website.

Do I need to schedule a time to take LSAT Writing if I have testing accommodations?

If you have been approved for testing accommodations for LSAT Writing, there are some testing accommodations which require a live proctored administration. If this applies to you, it will be stated in your letter of approved accommodations, and you will be prompted to schedule an appointment for your LSAT Writing session when you click the “Launch” button.

If I retake the LSAT, will I be given the same test?

LSAC administers many different versions of the LSAT. You won’t be given the same test twice and won’t see any of the same questions on the LSAT if you take it multiple times.

Can I change my testing region after registering for the LSAT?

LSAT registrants are unable to modify their test location via their JD online account. However, per section 6a of the LSAC Candidate Agreement, test takers’ geographical information provided must be accurate. If a candidate registers to test from a specific region and later learns they will need to test from another country, they should contact a Customer Relationship Representative to have their registration modified accordingly. Test takers can contact LSAC through the “Chat” feature by clicking on the chat icon on the bottom right corner of the LSAT pages on our website, via email at LSACinfo@LSAC.org, or by phone at 1.800.336.3982.

I have to go to the bathroom frequently due to a medical condition. Will I be allowed to stop while testing to use the restroom?

LSAT test takers are given one 10-minute intermission, and during this time, test takers are welcome to use the restroom. If you need to use the restroom more often than this due to a medical condition, you can apply for accommodations through your LSAC JD account to take more frequent breaks while testing.

How can I contact LSAC if I have additional questions?

If you have a question that wasn’t answered here, you can contact us using our “Chat” feature by clicking on the chat icon on the bottom right corner of the LSAT pages on our website, via email at LSACinfo@LSAC.org, or call us at 1.800.336.3982.
